PBL for Gifted Learners
Featured Speaker: Todd Stanley

Confucian once said, "If you give a person a fish they will eat for a single day. If you teach them to fish, they can feed themselves the rest of their lives." The same goes for education. If you give students a lesson or content, they can remember it for a short period. If you want them to have an enduring understanding, they must learn it themselves. This is where project-based learning is critical. Projects put students in real-world settings and ask them to complete a task. PBL teaches students how to learn for themselves; as well as other advantages such as collaboration, public speaking, organization, and all other 21st century skills. This session will look at how to set up projects following an example to illustrate. Participants will also learn tips on project management for gifted learners.
