What is binge drinking?

When you drink alcohol it leads to binge drinking. Binge drinking is drinking a lot of alcohol in a short amount of time. 5 drinks for men and 4 drinks for women can put you at the risk of binge drinking.

People

You might be wondering why people binge drink, well here is the answer! People binge drink for comfort and to be relaxed. People think that if they drink they are more social but in the long run they are just going to become more antisocial as the disease takes over them. Binge drinking also causes them to act different and irresponsible. They start fights, take things too seriously, anger to others, and they are unable to control or defend themselves.

  • Ignore responsibilities
  • Encounter harmful behaviors

  • Vomiting
  • Unconsciousness

  • Irregular Breathing (Cold)

  • Negative Effects in Lifestyle
  • Damage to the Brain (no oxygen)
  • Leads to 10% Decline in Memory
  • Teens - 8 times more likely to fall behind in class
  • Get hurt or damage property
  • Lower grades
  • Be smokers
  • Unplanned sex (no condoms + STD's)
  • Bad judgement
  • Alcohol poisoning
  • Organs stop working

Emergency

When you're a binge drinker you should get medical attention. If a person is vomiting you should lay them on their side so they don't choke. You should drive to the nearest hospital and take them to the ER and tell them what information you know.
