Message from the Principal
Dear Gator families,
I can’t believe we have reached the last installment of our newsletter for the 2021-22 school year. My heart is sad yet excited! It has been a crazy three years and we all need to honor the journey we have been through. The challenges we faced, flexibility we practiced and perseverance we displayed are all traits that come to mind. I am so proud of our students, families and staff. Our students were the shining stars. They have been patient, helpful and tenacious. Families, you have been supporters for your children and teachers. We appreciate your partnership! Thank you! Our staff have continued to make changes, helped to fill gaps of learning loss from our time out of school, and focused on the emotional, social and academic needs of our students. I am a proud principal of the hard work of our students, families and staff. Thank you!
See below for the events that will occur next week! Please make note of the fundraiser on Tuesday for the Prater Willi Syndrome. We are dressing up WACKY and/or wearing a hat this day with a goal to raise some money for further research of Prater Willi Syndrome that impacts one of our own fourth grade students! Thank you for your support. Please remember to lather on the sun block and send a bottle of water for Field Day which is on Wednesday. Finally, our 4th Grade Clap Out celebration details have been sent to all parents via the fourth-grade teachers.
As we approach this final week, we could use your help.
1) All rental iPADS will be picked up starting today through next Thursday. Please make sure to follow the email from district that explains the guidelines.
2) Please keep giving the pep talk about staying focused for these final five days of school. We have ongoing learning as well as many fun events next week that will deviate from our normal schedule which can be difficult for some students to transition and navigate. Please use the list below as well as the communication from your child’s teacher to prep your child on the activities for the week. Please keep those normal bedtimes for everyone’s sake.
Once school is over, we will send out one more notice to families about the 2022-23 school year. As we have done the past few years, we will have open touring hours in late July for families to walk the building. After school starts, we will have Meet the Teacher night for families. All the dates will be shared prior to office closing for the summer. Below are some dates that we know!
· The last day for our office to be open will be Monday, June 6.
· The office will re-open on Tuesday, July 19.
· Teachers will arrive in the building starting Monday, August 1.
· Our first student day for the 2022-23 school year will be Wednesday, August 3.
· Our PTO will have and End of Summer Social on the playground Friday, August 5.
Thank you for your continued support of your local school. We appreciate your trust in our expertise as educators and value your partnership as we come along side you in the education of your children.
Have a blessed summer,
Christi
