What's New?

Carter High School Library

Welcome!

Mmm...this is such a delicious season! I can almost smell the cookies baking, can't you? This month, the library is featuring some delectable treats for your kitchen, but also for your imagination. Be sure to stock up for the long holiday season, and don't forget to renew your books in person, by phone, or online.

We also look forward to hearing from you on ways we can serve your needs better. Our mission is to support the curriculum, promote reading, writing, research and other creative pursuits, and to encourage life long learning.

NEW BOOKS FOR DECEMBER!

Recommended Titles

December Events

Get your Christmas shopping done at Barnes & Noble on Sunday, December 13th, and let Club Literati do the gift wrapping for you. Our library book club will be at the Rancho Cucamonga store on Foothill from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM earning money for books and field trips.

Don't miss our STAR WARS book exhibit, either. We have quite an assortment of vintage comic books and novels inspired by the iconic movies. Soak up Star Wars lore before the new movie arrives! If you have artwork or memorabilia that you would like to contribute to our exhibit, let Ms. Bryson know.

Library Update

Need to save your work in a flash? The library is selling 8GB flash drives with a snazzy Carter Spirit Wristband design for just $10 while supplies last. See Mrs. Bryson to get yours today!

Have you tried out the district's new subscription database yet? Go to wwwproquest.com to give it a spin. The username is 28-26821 and the password is bigchalk. Then, be sure to sign up on My Learning Plan for the district training on Dec. 3rd from 3:15 PM to 5:00 PM. If you would like training for your students, contact Mrs. Bryson at extension 28147.

The library has received nine new computers "on loan" until the school or county comes up with a plan to restore the computers that were removed by the district. Luckily, they work beautifully!

Please contact Miss V at extension 28152 to reserve library time for your classes and small groups, whether it be for computer use or book browsing. You may also send one student at a time on a pass throughout the day, except during 4th period. (We need to eat, too!)

We look forward to seeing you and your students at the library!
