HS South EdTech Bulletin #2.2
Resources for Integrating Technology into Instruction
October 5, 2017
New Year, New Look
Ahoy, Pirates! As we mentioned earlier, the Edtech Bulletin is getting a makeover!! While we’ll still be sharing examples and ideas on how to meaningfully integrate technology into your lessons, we also want to ensure that the focus remains on the most important parts-teaching and learning. Each bulletin will center around a different instructional strategy (i.e. differentiation, self-directed learning, etc.) We’ll then suggest ways to help you carry them out, as well as some examples to share what teachers are doing in our building and beyond. We hope you’ll enjoy the new and improved EdTech Bulletin and can’t wait to hear how you approach these strategies in your own classroom!
Instructional Focus: Authentic Audience
In honor of Connected Educators Month and our new strategic goals, our first focus is on authentic audiences. Read on for strategies on how to provide a wider audience for your students.
Want to get in on the conversation? We’ve created a Flipgrid board to connect HSS teachers with HSN teachers. Check out what Flipgrid is all about below, and then visit our grid to share how you plan on providing your students with an authentic audience (or how you’re already doing it!)

LA students share their choice reading book reviews across class periods (thank you, Carol Fevola!). Check it out: https://padlet.com/mrsfev/e537bspzzdr7

Making it work, local options:
Google Docs
Create a shared Google Doc. Insert a table that allows students to respond to each other in text. Post the same Doc to multiple classes.
Padlet
Use a common Padlet wall for students to post text, pictures, or links. Turn the “Comments” feature on to create a dialogue.
