THE WARRIOR WEEKLY
NOVEMBER 28TH, 2016
WELCOME BACK!!
GIVE THEM YOUR BEST
A typical day of an educator can feel repetitive if we allow it. Each of us can think of a time in our profession when it felt like we were just punching the clock and meeting the mandates of the state, our school, or an administrator. Their will be times when we must pick ourselves up, when we must choose the attitude which we will bring to the classroom each day. When the time comes where we find ourselves lacking the motivation and the passion, we must remember why each of us accepted the challenge of this great profession. The motivation will be easy to find, just lift your head and look at the faces staring back at you. There you will find motivation in all forms. You will find the student who comes into our building just for you. You will find the student who comes into our building looking for their one and only meal. You will find the student who will challenge you day in and day out. You will find the student who needs you, and you MUST be there. You must be present. These students need you to be on your game each and everyday. You can't punch the clock, and you can't go through the motions. Everyone of your students deserves your best, and you are challenged to give them the opportunity they deserve. They deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential and never to be limited by their circumstances, environments, or disabilities. Go out today and give them your best! #WDpride
THE STAFF SPOTLIGHT
This week the staff spotlight shines on our PE department led by Mr. McGlothin, Mrs. Wells, and Mr. Journay. During the last few weeks, the PE department challenged middle school students to donate canned and boxed food items for the "I Gave in the Name of Hunger" food drive. If you are wondering what the incentive was used by the PE department...it was running! If students donated, they would be excused from their weekly running. It may not be in the state standards to excuse running, but what a worthy cause to not meet those pesky standards!
