CMS Foundation Teacher Talks Application Open
The application to present at the next Teacher Talks live event is open through December 1, 2017. All CMS educators are eligible to apply. The application and additional program information is available at www.cms-foundation.org/our-work/teacher-talks. Please encourage staff members to apply.
Based on the idea of former CMS and NC Teacher of the Year James Ford and inspired by the world-renowned TED Talks, Teacher Talks provides educators with a platform share ideas and experiences and inspire each other as they nurture talent and cultivate the minds of tomorrow. This past March, six CMS teachers took the stage in Uptown Charlotte to deliver powerful talks that are still being shared throughout Charlotte-Mecklenburg and beyond. Previous talks are available on the CMS Foundation website (see link above).
The next live Teacher Talks event will be March 8 at the McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square. This event will be free and open to all CMS teachers; however, registration will be required as theater seating is limited. Event registration details will be available in January.
For questions or more information, email talks@cms-foundation.org.

SMS Weekly Athletics Update (Study Hall For Scholar Athletes)
Boys & Girls Basketball practice continues this week. We are still recruiting girls for our basketball team. Please encourage our young ladies to participate in school sports. Our basketball coaches are required to conduct study hall either before or after practice in Mr. Daily's health room. If you have a few moments after school, stop by study hall to make sure your scholars are completing their assignments for your class.
