Chromebook Summer Plan

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At the end of the school year, Chromebooks issued to SUSD students will only be collected from seniors, students who know they are not returning to an SUSD school next August, and students whose parents request that the devices be collected.

All students who will attend Anasazi or any other Scottsdale Unified School District school for the 2021-22 school year will continue to have their current device checked out to them. Students will be permitted to take the device home for the summer with the expectation that they return with them on the first day of school in August. If you prefer, you may request that your child’s chrome book and charger remain at Anasazi.

Fifth graders going to our middle schools will take their Chromebooks with them and show up for sixth grade ready to go. Those fifth graders going to Mountainside will bring their Chromebooks and power cords to school on the first day of school.

Chromebooks returned to Anasazi for the summer must be returned with its power cord. Any damages to the device will be noted at this time.

Finally, ALL Verizon Hot Spots will be collected and checked in at the end of this school year. Ms. Pat Doran will be reaching out to you to coordinate.

Kinder-4th grade families and those 5th graders leaving SUSD only, please complete the Google Form if you plan on RETURNING THE DEVICE TO ANASAZI FOR THE SUMMER. As always, feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

Virtual Learning for the 2021–2022 School Year

All virtual learning instruction and students will be served through Scottsdale Online Learning (SOL) next school year. At the elementary level, the Kindergarten through fifth grade SOL will be a combination of the best components from Enhanced Distance Learning (EDL) at Echo Canyon and the best of the current SOL K-5 model. SOL for elementary school next fall will be a combination of teacher-led instruction and independent student work. Special areas (P.E., Music and Art) will be offered asynchronously through independent student work. At the secondary level, classes will be independent student work with support from teachers.

Individual campuses will not offer EDL during the 2021-2022 school year. Please note, special programs such as the Comprehensive Gifted Program, Dual Language Immersion, Cheyenne Traditional program, Pima Traditional program, International Baccalaureate, Pre-Advanced Placement, and the Math and Science Academy will only be available to in-person students in the 2021-2022 school year. Resources for Special Education students will be available through Scottsdale Online Learning. Online learning is a year-long commitment, unless there are extenuating circumstances and space is available.

What is a tax credit?

A tax credit is NOT a donation! It IS a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the state income tax you pay. If your tax credit contribution is more than the amount of state tax you owe, the credit can be carried forward up to five years. Receiving this tax credit will allow you to reduce the amount you owe the state or increase your refund. When filing your income tax return for the State of Arizona, the amount you designate to your school will be the amount you may claim as a state tax credit. This payment is eligible for Arizona state income tax credit as allowed by A.R.S. §43-1089.01. Tax credit contributions are non-refundable.

Designate your Tax Dollars to help Students of Scottsdale Unified School District #48

It’s a win-win situation for you and the school! Contributions can be claimed on your Arizona State tax return for either 2020 or 2021.

Complete the form below. Thank you in advance for supporting Anasazi and our students.
