Students & Teachers Engaging Active Minds
STEAM education is a means of exciting students and teachers by motivating them to become life long learners, involved with an inquiry based approach to learning. Learning happens in all different types of settings, both formal and informal. Students at Freeman have the opportunity to use their creativity while working on their self-confidence and team work skills while effectively staying engaged and learning in a STEAM culture.
The STEAM educational framework is for all disciplines and types of learners with the goal of being more engaging and naturally successful. Students can participate in four different ways: Engineering Challenges, VEX Robotics, Maker Creator Challenges, and the Science Fair. Freeman students will compete with other students around the district in April 2016.
Our campus STEAM Team is headed by Ms. Peterson and they all graciously give their time to help our students! The STEAM Team consists of a teacher representative from each grade level. The STEAM Team works with our students after school on Tuesdays to help prepare them for the competition in April.
