Throughout the school we like to send out automated phone calls with information regarding the school such as upcoming events, changes, etc. There are also times when we will need to contact you and having up-to-date contact information is key to our communication.

If you have any changes to your contact information i.e. phone number, address, email address, please let us know immediately so that we may assist you in updating our system accordingly.

See below for information on updating your own information through the APS Parent Portal.

Parent Portal

Click here for access to the APS Parent Portal where you can monitor your child's progress, grades, assignments, attendance and even update your contact information and emergency contacts.

The Parent Port tool will require a user name and password. Please contact your student’s school to retrieve this information if your are a first time user.

Starting immediately Lyn Knoll we will be using the Raptor Security System to check in our visitors. This system utilizes a nationwide database to check backgrounds on those that visit our school. We ask that you provide us with your government issued ID which will then be scanned in the database and print out a visitor tag; much like local hospitals. Please be prepared with identification when you visit our school. If you have any questions or concerns please contact our office.

For more detailed information, please contact our Security department directly.

In an effort to ensure all eligible students receive a free or reduced priced lunch, we ask that you take a moment to complete the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application/Family Data Economic Surveys. Every application collected helps us to maintain our Title I status which in turn qualifies us for special grants, field trip discounts, scholarships, etc.

For assistance, please contact the school directly.

This is a 2 page document and includes the Kinder-5th grade calendar as well as the preschool calendar.

Here at Lyn Knoll, we understand the excitement that comes with celebrating your child's birthday. This is an important day for them and we want to honor them on their special day. Every student will receive a special birthday card signed by the principal and a birthday pencil. However, we feel that celebrations in the classroom are a luxury that not all students can afford whether it's due to economic downfalls, religion or other reasons beyond their control and we ask that you refrain from bringing in goodies during learning hours.

Student Drop Off and Pick Up/Staff Parking Lot

Please park along 2nd Avenue and obey the city street signs to avoid being ticketed. If for any reason, due to medical conditions or other reasons beyond your control, you need to enter the parking lot for student drop off and pick up, please contact the office.

Outside of drop off and pick up times, please be cautious of pedestrians in the area while driving through the parking lot. Do not text while driving. The safety of our students, staff, and community is one of our highest priorities.

Also note that we have new bell times.

* 7:50 am is the first bell

*class officially begins at 7:55 am

*dismissal is 2:55 pm

Students can arrive as early as 7:30 am. Prior to that time there is no adult supervision. It is so important that kids arrive on time to school every day and that they are prepared to learn. It is equally important that students are picked up on time at 2:55 as we do not have on-site after school supervision.

Are you bored at home? Looking to volunteer? Have spare time? Or just want to help out and pitch in?

Lyn Knoll is in need of parent volunteers in the following areas:

*lunch/recess coverage

*cross walk/traffic/parking lot duties

*student monitoring during drop off and pick up times

If you are interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Garcia for more information.

**A clean background check is required for all volunteers.**
