This Week at MHS
Here's what's happening September 27th-October 1st!
Dear MHS Parents and Students,
We want to thank everyone who helped bring back some Homecoming traditions last week! A huge shout out to our sponsors, coaches, parents, and students for their willingness to be part of the parade. An even larger shout out to the MJHS students and faculty - and the SHE students and faculty - for coming out to watch and cheer them on. Did you miss the parade? See the link below for highlights!
Invoices for fall and yearlong AP courses (Seminar, Research, and Chemistry) will be sent via email to families in early October. The MHS payment deadline for these exams is 10/29. If payment is not received by the deadline, your student will be dropped from the fall AP exam order. MHS will invoice students for spring coursework in early February. With questions, please contact Jennifer.abernathy@maryville-schools.org.
Fall Break begins Monday, October 4th through Tuesday, October 12th. Classes resume October 13th.
Wishing everyone a great week and a safe Fall Break!

This in-person college fair will allow high school students and their parents to connect with over 50 colleges, universities, technical schools and art schools so that you can get the information you need during your college search. Afterwards from 7:00 – 8:00 pm, parents are invited to join Maryville College Financial Aid staff to learn tips and tricks on navigating the financial aid process no matter what college the student chooses. Please register for this event at https://apply.maryvillecollege.edu/register/BCCF-2021
The Blount County Youth Court is looking for volunteer jurors. Teenagers who volunteer to sit on the Youth Court decide the sentence for other teens who admitted to committing a first time, non-violent offense. Youth Court volunteers are trained to base their sentences on the Principles of Restorative Justice. Volunteers learn about court procedures, sentencing options, trial techniques, structure of the justice system, the meaning of justice and relationships between rights and responsibilities.
