LPMAEC June Update
Virtual and Live Graduation Success
Many thanks to all the people who helped make both the virtual and live graduation ceremonies successful!
The live graduation was a special moment for all graduates and their families. Thanks to Mr. Mireles, Mrs. Waide, Mrs. Merkel, PISD nurses, OGH and community medical staff, Sheriff Bouchard, Chief Smith, and all of the numerous people that made this day happen.
Kat Broome and David Erickson did a phenomenal job coordinating and creating the virtual graduation ceremony. Special thanks are due to Coach Watson and Mrs. Cummings for helping manage this event. We would also like to recognize Mrs. Murillo for the wonderful commencement address. In addition to school staff, we would like to thank the many community members that gave time, money, and energy to the graduating class of 2020. We are especially especially grateful for Corina Ramirez who organized the Adopt a Senior Facebook group! Students loved the yard signs and the community support given during this time. We also are thankful for Cynthia Symons with Perryton Office Supply and their generous donation of gift cards to our LPMAEC students. It has been amazing to see the outpouring of support from the community. Thank you to everyone who made this moment special for our students.
Most importantly, we want to recognize our students for their effort in achieving this milestone! We are so proud of you!

Campus Teacher and Paraprofessional of the Year
Our campus teacher of the year is Mrs. Cathy McCoy.
Mrs. McCoy has worked diligently with our students to improve their English test scores, and we had one of our highest testing cycles in this subject during December. In addition, she had double knee replacement and spent more time worrying about the effect of her absence on our students than anything else. This mindset is typical of Mrs. McCoy as she is always looking out for everyone else first! She is always there to listen to our students when they need someone to talk to, and she makes it her mission to ensure they know their value.
Our campus paraprofessional of the year is Mrs. Elizabeth Villeda.
Mrs. Villeda goes above and beyond on a daily basis. During the school closure period, she helped provide meals to students throughout town via our feeding program. She is constantly looking for ways to help and never seeks out attention for all the ways she helps our campus succeed. She is especially helpful to our students working on Spanish and math classes. Mrs. Villeda is beyond deserving of this award!
We are thankful both Mrs. Villeda and Mrs. McCoy are a part of our campus!
Happy Retirement, Luz!
Our wonderful custodian, Luz, decided to begin a much deserved retirement in April. Luz not only took great care of our campus, but she also connected with our students. She hugged them in celebration of their accomplishments, and prodded them on when they were struggling. Luz made our campus a happy place to be and we already miss her!
Love you, Luz!
Summer Credit Recovery
The summer credit recovery program began June 8th and will run through June 30th. Students who attend can regain credit for classes and stay on track to graduate with their class. Please contact Mrs. Wilson with questions. We are here to help your students succeed!
