Principal's News
How nice it is to be back, onsite and have all of our activities we are so used to begin to get underway again! Schools are made to be full of children laughing and learning - that is for sure!
2023 sees not only our building program fully underway but also the development of our Strategic Plan for the next three years, our Victorian Registration Qualifications Authority (VRQA) 5 year periodic review and our application for authorisation in the IB Middle Years Program.
Reflecting on all of the behind the scenes work that goes into these requirements and programs in our schools makes me even more grateful for the happy 'noise' of a school on a day to day basis! Our students and their learning is the core of why we do what we do. Our students are the purpose, or the point, of our school.
Life without God is a little like a school without students. There is no pint of a school without children. When we ask Jesus into our hearts, He gives our lives a purpose and a point. Our point is to love God and love others. Our school, like Jesus, loves all of our students, just as they are.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind.’ This is the first and most important command. And the second command is like the first: ‘Love your neighbour as you love yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39

Students may leave the carnival with their parent/guardian however all students MUST sign out at the main gate with the College Staff Member on duty. Parent/Guardian must be in attendance for the student to be singed out.
A BBQ is provided for students however, it is encouraged that all students bring healthy lunches and plenty of water on the day. Please also remember to ensure students apply sunscreen.

House spirit is a fun aspect of our carnivals. Students can wear some accessories in their house colours but are asked to ensure their sports uniform is the basis of this, remembering SUN SAFETY at all times.

Building Works Update
Coupled with the courtyard progress, the College is a hive of activity! We are excitedly awaiting the completion of the Courtyard and the central college space that will provide us.
Stage 2 of our Refurbishment Program, the Hawthorn and Library buildings are scheduled to commence at the end of May.
School Management System (SMS) - Synergetic
Our College continues to work on our rollout of our new SMS, Synergetic.
Parent access is coming and will be introduced throughout the second half of Term 1 & 2. Initially each parent will have their account set up and each new module will be sent to parents with detailed explanations and how to guides. We do not expect this process to begin until mid Term 1.
We thank parents for their patience as we ensure the rollout of Synergetic is as seamless as possible and ultimately, a much more positive user experience for our community moving forward.
CHANGE TO DETAILS: While we set up and roll out parent accounts, if you need to change your child's details please contact the College Reception or email admin@tlc.vic.edu.au
'The Vine'
'The Vine', our newly developing online learning management space that will ultimately be the 'one stop shop' for College communications, student learning programs, assessment and reporting records, learning records, extra curricula activities etc is starting to take shape for our students.
Our secondary students have begun to operate within aspects of 'The Vine' platform and will build their user access as the year progresses as we move towards the platform being the final stage of our transition in College LMS/SMS for the commencement of the 2023 school year.
The College is confident that this two phased transition to ultimately, a single platform will provide our community with a first class user experience enabling connection, communication and collaboration of all levels of your child's learning journey.
