Ways to Help Dyslexic Students in the Classroom


  • Allow students to contribute with their special talent or interest.
  • Encourage oral responses and participation.
  • Make directions clear and brief.
  • Break up assignments into steps.
  • Call on students to read aloud only when they volunteer or are given advanced notice.
  • Allow sub-vocalizing when reading and writing.
