It's a great day to be a Leopard!
GISD makes record-breaking pacesetter donation!
At the kickoff luncheon on Thursday, the 12 pacesetter companies along with other attendees came together to announce their grand totals and celebrate our achievements. Campus and district leaders, GHS cheerleaders, and our GISD student representative, campaign Junior Chair Avery Crutsinger, announced our 2019 total donation.
Every dollar that was given by students to wear jeans on United Way days and every pledge made by employees throughout the district helped us reach this goal. We love giving back to our community and instilling pride in our school! Thank you parents, students, and staff!
Heroes Among Us: Firefighters as Role Models
The terms “Firefighter” and “hero” are often synonymous, but the two are always the same for Gainesville Fire Rescue employees who participate in the Firefighters As Role Models (FARM) program.
These brave individuals go beyond fighting fires and protecting homes and businesses in Gainesville – they go into the classrooms of Edison and W. E. Chalmers Elementary Schools at Gainesville Independent School District and become a resource to students who need them most.
The "Heroes Among Us" story series is released twice monthly, featuring local heroes and organizations that exemplify the Totally Texas, All American spirit that is the fabric of the Gainesvile community. Stories are contributed by the City of Gainesville, Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Gainesvillle Economic Development Corporation, GISD, and NCTC.
