News from the View!
Dedicated to furthering the lives of our students.
Hello,
In last January’s newsletter, I mentioned that at NVMS we wanted to work with you to approach the New Year with purpose for our students. I would say we’re off to a great start! February was filled with unique learning opportunities, and activities for our students. As always, we look forward to continuing to work together as a team to provide your student with an educational experience that strives to meet the our goal to provide our students with an inclusive and responsive environment that empowers and inspires your student with a bright and bold future
It was also filled with record breaking weather patterns that caused some school related cancellations and re-scheduling. As we continue to make our way through what’s left of winter, be sure to check the website if you think something may be canceled due to inclement weather. Any cancellations of school programs or co-curricular activities or events will be placed on the district's website as soon as the decision to cancel them has been made.
Be sure to also periodically check the school's website, and calendar to see many more exciting things planned for this school year. If you have any questions about this or anything else related to North View Middle School, please feel free to contact me. If you would like to view previous newsletters, please click here.
In case you missed!

At NVMS we not only build community with our students, but we also connect as adults to ensure that we are doing what is needed to ensure equitable student achievement. Pictured here is a team of our educators working to ensure that their classrooms are literacy rich environments.
Student Spotlight
Former North View Middle School student and leader Adalia McKenzie. At her last home game she hit her 1,000th career high school point as a sophomore at Park Center. Not only is she an incredible athlete but she is an amazing student and leader in the school community. Way to go Adalia!

About me.
Hello,
This is my fifth year serving as principal of North View Middle School. Before coming to North View, a large portion of my professional career has been spent with Osseo Area schools, six of which were spent working as the Assistant Principal of Osseo Senior High. Before that, I spent time as a Dean of Students for Richfield High School and middle school level Science teacher and behavior dean with the Minneapolis public school system.
While in Minneapolis, I spent five wonderful years teaching middle level Science at Lincoln Community School and Anishanabe Academy to sixth, seventh and eighth grader and two years providing academic and behavioral support while working as dean. My past experiences have shaped my core beliefs and philosophy of education. For me, schools must be an integral part of the community they serve. They should also be focused on high expectations for all students, and through developmentally appropriate and strong instructional practices, give students the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to exceed these expectations.
If you would like to connect with me please click here. I would love to hear from you!
