Good afternoon everyone,

We managed to dodge the weather this week and it has been a great start to the term! Our students have come back refreshed and ready for the term, and it has been great to see everyone back into the swing of things so quickly.

Over the next few weeks, I am conducting all the Kindy 2025 Interviews with our new families. These have started really well, and I would like to whole-heartedly thank all our current families for their support and kind words in recommending our awesome school to the wider community. It is the community spirit, committed and enthusiastic staff and welcoming, friendly students that make our community so great! Thanks again!

Over the past 6 months our P&F have been discussing the need to improve the Senior Playground Equipment out on the large oval. Our previous president, Jodie, and current president, Deb, along with the P&F Exec and wider parent group have been discussing this as a project and looking into ways to get it off the ground. This term our students will be involved in discussions to get their voice and we will be forming a small working party to go and see some examples of what other schools have done in this space.

The P&F have been in discussion with local government about extra funding, met with myself about how best to work together in financing and organising the project and have budgeted P&F funds in their annual budget for the project. This is how we got our Basketball Courts done last year and I thank the whole P&F Committee for all their hard work.

This term the P&F have decided to do some extra fundraising in support of the project with their biscuit drive. The P&F and School Leadership Team want everyone to know that these initiatives are always voluntary and there is no obligation for families to participate – no stress either way.

On Friday the 12th of May we will be celebrating our mother’s and significant women with an early morning tea (and the all important coffee van here) at school from 7.30am, followed by a Whole School Mass over in the church at 9am. Please mark this off in your diaries and I will be sending out a separate newsletter next week to give you the finer details. In the meantime, if you could send Katherine (on the admin email) any photos of our students with their mother’s or significant women it would be really appreciated. We would love to create a PowerPoint for the morning!

I hope you have all had a nice (short) first week and that you have a great weekend. As I am training for my first marathon, I have a 35km run tomorrow morning that I need to complete. If I am sitting down in the drive-through on Monday, you will know why!

Bitesize Biscuit Fundraiser

This week we sent home some samples and information on our fundraising initiative of Bitesize biscuits. In Week 2 we will be sending home a box per family (via the oldest sibling) that we are hoping you can sell to support this fundraising initiative.

We are fundraising to help upgrade the senior playground area (near the oval). More information regarding the upgrade of the playground will be shared soon

If you have any questions please email the P&F on pnf.sbcps@gmail.com
