12 days of Christmas continues this week!
Refer to the Literacy Night Schedule sent out for details of when and where you will work. You may wear jeans and a staff shirt or festive Christmas shirt/sweater (but not ugly Christmas sweater).
Be sure to revisit Student Data Notebooks with your kids prior to Christmas break. Have them graph their MAP and DRA data and help set goals for the second semester!
Who will have The Greatest Attendance in December? - As we discussed, you will calculate percentage of students present each day and record it on the chart. We will collect these percentages up to Dec 18. On Dec 19, you will let students know which class out of their grade had the highest percentage and they will receive their 30 minute celebration (which you as the classroom teachers are choosing). Mrs. Manning and I will calculate grade level percentages and the winning grade will receive a 30 minute "AttenDANCE party" in the PE building on December 20th! Remember, December is a difficult month to get the kids here, so keep these incentives fresh on their minds.
- Any Christmas ornament or decorating by students will need to be at a minimum and be creative with the time, such as doing some of it during a rotation center so instruction can continue. I LOVE Christmas and I still hang my children's ornaments on our tree, but I don't need 3-5 ornaments each year. One is a wonderful memory!! If you need help brainstorming ideas to minimize loss of instruction then please visit with Mrs. Manning and I. You could get a parent volunteer to allow the students to rotate out in hallway while teacher is still instructing!
- We will not ask parents for money for any craft items or party items. Also, make sure that all food brought for parties are purchased from stores and not homemade.
- DRA window opens December 3rd. Just a reminder that this can only be completed by certified staff. Update scores on the EES Literacy Assessments Google sheet
- 2nd Nine weeks writing assessments will need to be administered, graded, and entered on the literacy assessment spreadsheet prior to leaving for Christmas break.
Progress Monitoring and Documentation:We will wait on Dibels PM and MAP PM until after the break. We will start the mid year Dibel process in January.
All interventionists and teachers will comment on SIT docs this week by end of school day on Friday. This will be the last comments for the 2018 year. We will not comment next week.
Make sure if you are working with a SIT child during tier 1 instruction, interventions during PROWL or class time, you are commenting on their sheet. All SIT documentation should be completed by 3:40 on Friday. If you are working with a child but do not have access to their SIT sheet, email Mrs. Manning for access.
