Important Information:
- (NEW) COVID Close Contacts – This week the CDPH revised and modified the close contact procedures for schools moving forward for students that are close contacts within the educational setting. The district will be taking the Group-Tracing Approach moving forward. You can read more about this at the following website: Group Tracing Approach – CDPH. Those students and staff that are in an indoor educational setting for 15 or more minutes will receive a close contact letter with instructions for how to proceed. Please be sure to read through the letter should you receive one moving forward.
- (New) Friday Flag: Our Friday Flag has been postponed.
- Intradistrict Window: For families who live in the Poway Unified School District (PUSD) boundaries and would like to request their student attend a PUSD school other than their school of residence, the transfer request window will open February 1, 2022 for the 2022-2023 school year. This includes incoming siblings of current students. Transfer requests can be made on the Poway Unified School District website. Per PUSD Board Policy 5116.1(b), the window is open each year from February 1 through March 31 for the following school year. No exceptions will be made.
Please note: Decisions on transfers are made by the Student Attendance and Discipline Office, not the schools.

A Note from Our Counselor, Ms. Park
Hello Families! Permission slips for the new small groups have been sent out this week. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at empark@powayusd.com.
During the last week of January, our school will be participating in The Great Kindness Challenge (GKC). It is a positive, action-based bullying-prevention initiative that promotes a school culture of kindness, compassion, unity, and respect. This challenge week gives every educator and student an opportunity to model and focus on kindness practices not only at school but in our community.
Have a wonderful and safe MLK weekend!

Sundance Events - Volunteers Needed!
Do you love Sundance school events and community-driven activities? Join the Sundance PAC this year to help continue our tradition of school events that enhance both Sundance student’s and the entire family’s school experience!
We are looking for volunteers to run the Talent Show & International Fair this year in order for these events to take place.
Talent Show: Coordinate auditions and help to plan and promote the Talent Show for 3rd-5th graders. A Sundance staff member will help as well!
International Fair: Help plan and promote the family led interactive booths at our international fair.
Grab a friend or neighbor and volunteer together! Current PAC & Foundation members will also be available for input. Please email Lori Faydo Lfaydo@att.net if you are able to help.
