History & Origin of the Renaissance
The word renaissance means "rebirth" or "born anew". The renaissance took place from late 13th to the 16th century, after the medieval times. It originated in northern Italy, then spread throughout Europe.
Italian scholars and artists saw themselves as the new life to ideals and achievements. There were some different parts in the Renaissance period, called Early Renaissance, Pro-Renaissance, and Late Renaissance.
Famous Artists of the Renaissance
Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian painter, sculptor, architect, musician, writer, mathematician, engineer, and an inventor. He was well known for his art of works: Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. Also Leonardo known as the "Renaissance man".
Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer. He had an influence on the Western art. Michelangelo was known for his work of David and The Last Judgement
Renaissance's Arts
The arts originated from Italy from the late 13th to the early 14th century. Some of the most famous arts from the Renaissance age is:
- The Last Supper created in 1495-1498
- Mona Lisa created in 1503-1517
- David created in 1501-1504
- The Last Judgement
The Last Supper was a a portrait that was focused on Jesus Christ.
The Mona Lisa is portrait that no one really knows the meaning of.
The David is one of the first and greatest detailed structure of all time.
