Hello NES Families,

Happy Monday! There aren't too many things to remember about this coming week, but we are excited about recognizing some students. Here's the details...

“We are Nooksack” Awards: Wednesday will be our next virtual school-wide assembly! We will be recognizing students who are demonstrating our 3 school-wide expectations: We are Kind, We are Learners, We are Leaders.

• Last week on Friday Feb. 19th, each teacher presented an award for each expectation to a student in their class.
• Building character: We have many students who demonstrate these traits all the time. We tell our students that giving an award to a specific student is a way to celebrate and feel happy for our friends, and hear examples of our school-wide commitments so we can keep getting better.
• On Wednesday, February 24th, we will have our second all-school virtual assembly. We will share the names of students who earned an award and also have some fun together across the school...all while remaining in our cohorts.
• Can families join the zoom? I’m sorry, but no. The assembly is just for our in-person classrooms due to confidentiality and using Zoom. We will share the award recipients with families through an email. We will be recognizing some NV@Home students too.

Thank you for sending your kids to school with clean masks that fit well over the nose. This really helps our day run smoothly. We appreciate your continued support.

Keep the snow day learning packet in a safe place. This packet has at home learning activities and routines to complete. Students will then return their packet upon returning to school after a snow day(s) so teachers can record their attendance for at home learning day(s).

In addition to the learning activities, posting pictures of students making snow angels on our NES Facebook page are also welcome!! Parents and staff included!
