As the month of November begins, this is a perfect opportunity for giving thanks. I am thankful for all of our staff who work tirelessly each day to serve our students. Thank you parents for your understanding and flexibility during a year when rules have changed at a moment’s notice. This community continues to be a giving and supportive staple in supporting Shannondale teachers, staff, and most importantly, our precious Hornets.
I hope you get time to rest and relax with those that you are thankful for during this season.
Please welcome our new first grade teacher: Suzanne McGaha

A BIG shoutout to all that participated in this year's Read-A-Thon. $15, 536 was raised and all students were excited to have Kona Ice as a reward!!!
Foundation had a great time at The Chop House visiting with our community partners. Our community partners provide a great need to help us meet our fundraising goal to have S.T.E.M. at Shannondale. We raised $4,000 during the luncheon and pledges have been coming into the school for those that could not make it to the luncheon. Skate for S.T.E.M. was a huge success. There were more skaters than ever before. We had 127 skaters with raised $762 for S.T.E.M. which included a match by the Siddiqi Foundation who promotes health and wellness.
Join our Facebook page to see creative projects that our students will be undertaking in weeks to come. There will be a Ham n’ Goodys cookie sale between Thanksgiving and first week of December which Shannondale Foundation will collect 50% of the sale to go toward our 2021-2022 fundraising efforts. Thank you for all your support and participation in Shannondale Elementary School.
Mrs. Vanblaricum's note to Parents:
We have some big and exciting things coming up in STEM class. This month we will be hosting our 2nd annual Shannondale STEM parade. All grade levels will be creating different floats/balloons so this parade will be a crowd pleaser! We are going bigger than we did last year and students will be to decorate their balloons/floats with more than just paper. As you could imagine it takes a lot of supplies to create roughly 400 floats, so if you have any arts and crafts materials laying around that you are looking to re-home, the STEM class will gladly take them. We plan to start building next week!
Also, in December we will be creating ornaments and trinkets out of nuts, bolts, and washers. I know we all have those coffee cans in the garage full of old stuff so, if anyone would be willing to gather some bolts, nuts, and washers of various sizes and send them in, we will give them new life!! Thanks!
