Scholastic Book Orders
Snow Make- up Days
High 5 Behavior
We have been reviewing our classroom expectations since returning from break. With the unpredictable weather it has been very hard for the kids to get back into the “normal” school routine and remembering appropriate classroom behavior. Please help me to remind your child as they leave for school to stay focused when they are here. Thank you for your help and support in this! Spring is just around the corner!
Coming up next week....
Reading -We will continue talking about the difference between fact and opinion as well as identifying the main idea and supporting details in the stories we read. When reading at home ask your child about the main idea of the story.
Spelling - New spelling words were sent home Tuesday for the test on Friday, January 30th.
Our sight words for the next 2 weeks will be:
Writing - We will continue working on persuasive writing. We will be using our persuasive skills to make book trailers to try and persuade others to read some of the Young Hoosier Book Award nominees we have been reading in class. We will also be finishing our traditions project by completing a quilt square representing our family tradition.
Math - We will continue working on those addition and subtraction skills, this time focusing on facts up to 20. We will be working on fact families and finding missing parts of both addition and subtraction sentences. It is still very important to be practicing those math facts at home.
Science - We will continue our first science topic about matter by exploring solids, liquds and gases.
