CHS Faculty/Staff Member of the Month
The Faculty/Staff Member of the Month program is designed to recognize outstanding teachers, school counselors, educational assistants, administrative assistants, cafeteria staff, and custodians for their contributions to Canton High School, excellence in and out of the classroom, leadership, innovation, community involvement, dedication, and support for CHS students. Each month, one faculty/staff member will be recognized.
Nominations may be submitted by the school faculty, staff, students, parents/guardians, and community members.
Regardless of the outcome, Canton High School would like to stress that the real tribute of this award is the nomination, which symbolizes the esteem and appreciation the community has for its faculty and staff.
Please use this Faculty/Staff of the Month Nomination Form to nominate a deserving faculty or staff member.
Teaching and Learning Updates
Reminder: School-Issued Devices and Device Agreement Form
All students in grades 2-10 or any student at CHS with a full-year loaner MUST complete the School-Issued Device Agreement. If you have not completed the School-Issued Device Agreement yet you can access it here. Once submitted, an email will be automatically sent to you with the link to purchase the Optional Device Coverage Plan through MySchoolBucks. If you have already completed the Device Agreement and need the link to MySchoolBucks you can find that here. You can reach out to Julie Shore, Director of Technology and Digital Learning at shorej@cantonma.org with any questions.
Benchmarking Assessments- Math and English
Our Math classes use IXL for these assessments, and the data provides very detailed reports on student performance and identifies areas in need of additional support. These assessments also correlate closely to standardized tests students will take throughout their high school years including the SAT.
English students will use CommonLit for their benchmarking assessments. CommonLit provides similar data on student performance and will allow English teachers the opportunity to best assess baseline and indicators for growth.
These assessments will be performed several times throughout the year with the goal of tracking growth and identifying areas in need of support/extension.
