Ms. Newton's Notes
Happy Monday!
We are entering our 4th week of school. Can you believe it has been about a month already? Thank you for coming out to our curriculum nights last week, we hope that you learned quite a bit and are feeling confident about where your scholars are headed.
We also held School Leadership Team (SLT) elections last week and I am pleased to announce our new members: Meridith Yancey, Nidal Karim, and Peter Isbister. Thanks to everyone who stepped up to be on the ballot. We will need the help of many to accomplish our school's goals. Please stay tuned for opportunities.
CogAT Testing
Third and fourth graders will be taking the CogAT September 4-6, 2019. Please click here to read more about this test.
Gizmo/Smart Watches
We are seeing an increase in students wearing Gizmo or other smart watches. A Gizmo watch is a GPS tracker with voice calling and messaging. We realize that some students have phones, Gizmo or other smart watches so they can check in with parents once dismissed. However, please ensure that you communicate to them that devices should be turned off and stowed away during school hours.
Phones may not be used to talk, take pictures, play games, record or text during arrival to school, school hours, or at recess. The school can not responsible for lost or damaged devices.
