PBIS Updates
At Muskego Lakes...we have
MUSKY P.R.I.D.E
Promoting...
Respect - acting in a way that shows that you care about others’ feelings and well-being
Integrity -acting with honor by doing the right thing even when no one is looking
Determination - showing that you are trying your hardest and persevering when faced with challenges.
Engagement- feeling part of the community, and having voice and choice as a learner
Biweekly, we will be focusing and reviewing parts of the PRIDE matrix as a whole school. We will review these behavioral expectations and skills during morning announcements, and in individual classes.
January 20-February 1: PRIDE matrix focus is under Engagement: Care for Others.
Engagement means feeling part of the community and have voice and choice as learners. Being engaged and caring for others means that students will be committed to collaborating, and are seen including, working together, and encouraging peers.
February 4-22: PRIDE matrix focus is under Determination: Be a Scholar.
Determination focuses on the importance of students trying their hardest and persevering through challenges. Being determined and being a scholar means that students are finding and using your resources when needed. Examples may include looking up information using your textbook, notebook, or Chromebook independently, or seeking help when needed.
Effective Behavior Management Tip of the Month
Here’s a brief article focused on strategies when children argue or push buttons. While it is written for classroom teachers, it is transferable to all settings. The key is to place responsibility on your child. When you do this, you remove yourself and your emotions. At the same time, you also help your son or daughter to gain responsibility, autonomy, and problem-solving skills.
