Week Of October 1st
Highlights From Last Week....
Wow, it is October already!! We are finally starting to settle into a routine. It is amazing to see how much progress we have made within just a few weeks.
This week our class focused on ways in which friends get along with each other. Children read stories about how friends share, take turns, and resolve conflicts, or problems, with one another.
The children learned the words friend and problem and focused on the word "the". We learned all about the letter M.
In Math, we worked on decomposing numbers to 3 and learned that 1+2=3. We also started looking at numbers 0, 1, 2, and 3. We learned how to write the numbers and used the numeral to represent a quantity.
In Social Studies, we continued learning about what it looks like to be a member of the school community.
A peek at our learning this week...
This week our class will be reading stories about baby animals and their families. Your child will also discover ways in which baby animals move, such as hopping, running, galloping, and crawling.
Here are some activities you can do with your child to help reinforce the skills we’ll be practicing.

In Math, we will work on decomposing numbers with totals of 4 and 5. We will write numerals 1-5 in order. We will be working with numbers 6-8. We will learn how to write the numbers and use the numeral to represent a quantity.

Thank you for the continued supplies you are sending in! We appreciate any donations you can make. I am looking for antibacterial hand soap. I don't even mind the "refill" size, as I have pumps to fill it with.
Chilly weather is moving in! Please make sure your child has a jacket or sweatshirt. Also, it is a good idea to label your child's clothing so I know who to give it to if I find it lying around.
Have a great week!
