The who, the what and the where?
Easter island covers about 64 square miles in the south pacific ocean. It is located 2,300 miles off of Chile's west coast, and 2,500 miles east of Tahiti. The first human inhabitants of Easter island were the Rapa nuiz arriving around 400-500 A.D. The only existences that this tribe has left over were the 900 giant stone statues. These statues are to represent leaders and gods.
Myths/legends about Easter island
One myth about Easter island is that there were two tribes called the "short ears and the long ears. The second myth is that some people thought that the Moai were carved out by ancient aliens. The third myth is that the Moai are only stone heads.
History of the tipped head
Still to this day we do not know how some of them got tipped.
Canabolism
Some tribes of Easter island were thought to be cannibalistic.
Underwater?
Some of the Easter island heads were found deep underwater.
What I think happened
My theory is that the tribes were wiped out by the civil war, and all of the cannibalism that happened throughout the ages of the tribes living there.
Quotes from famous people
“The metaphor is so obvious. Easter Island isolated in the Pacific Ocean — once the island got into trouble, there was no way they could get free. There was no other people from whom they could get help. In the same way that we on Planet Earth, if we ruin our own [world], we won't be able to get help.”
