Sherburn Hungate Weekly News - Autumn Term - Issue 7
A word from Mr Broom
On Tuesday and Thursday Miss Smith and I held parent consultations for our Year 2 children. Key messages around punctuality, attendance and end of year expectations were shared and we're positive that it's going to be a really good year for these children.
Mr Kelly's class visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park today. Thank you to everyone who helped them. On Thursday the whole of Key Stage 2 took part in the cross-country event at Sherburn High School. Our behaviour was exemplary and I'm so proud of everyone who gave their all.
Next week, it's our Harvest Festival led by the Year 3 and Year 4 children. I'm really looking forward to it.
Have a super weekend.

School doors close at 0845. After this time, children are late to school.
We have a few children who are persistently late and we need to ensure that they arrive on time so that they can start their learning. Please support us with this.

School Attendance
It's important that children attend school regularly and at Sherburn Hungate we recognise that excellent attendance leads to excellent achievement. Fact!
Congratulations to our Year 1 and Year 5 children who are our attendance champions in school this week with 99.3%!
Our average attendance this week is 95.3% which is below the national average.
We have a small number of children whose attendance is well below the national expectations. These children are known as persistently absent when their attendance falls below 90%. I will be making telephone calls to parents of these children.
Thank you for your continued support with our attendance drive. It is really appreciated.
