Mission, Vision and Values
Our BPS Mission: "Empower every learner to thrive."
Our BPS Vision: "Together, our strong relationships build inclusive, collaborative, and innovative environments that create agency and inspire a passion for learning, excellence, and discovery."
Our BPS Values: Inclusion, Excellence, Innovation and LeadershipMessage From Mrs. Hurt
We will soon begin the process of assigning students to classrooms for next year. We want parents to know this is a task in which we invest much time and effort. Our goal is to create a balance in our classrooms with the primary aim of finding a good match for every student. We consider interests, learning styles, and academics to help aid in placement for the next school year.
Classroom teachers, specialists, and administration come together to review and plan for the transition of students to the next grade level.
We believe all Lincoln teachers are highly qualified and we strive to ensure all students receive quality education. At this time of year, parents often wish to make specific teacher requests on behalf of their child. We will not be accepting specific teacher requests, however; we do want to provide you an opportunity to share specific needs you want the staff to keep in mind when we place your child. If you feel there is a special or unique circumstance that applies to your child, please complete the online form here: Special or Unique Circumstance Form
Drop Off Zone
- When the process is followed, it is smooth and efficient.
- Some of our students have been eager to support this process. They asked if they can assist in the morning and in a effort to support meaningful work for them, have given them a process to follow. Although, we are not letting them or adults provide guidance when the weather conditions hit the -15 degree mark.
- Regarding the morning guidance by adults and students; we were hoping that a week or so of guidance would allow for most or all families to read about and learn the process. We've learned that more time and additional communication is necessary.
- If your child needs a little more assistance, please pull into the parking lot, park in a parking space, and then assist your child out of the vehicle and to the crosswalk.
- DO NOT go around vehicles in the drive-through (drop-off) lane to get a spot in front of vehicles currently dropping. Hence the reason for cones. The cones have been placed in the beginning of the EXIT LANE to eliminate this practice. The cones are not intended to be placed there ongoing. They will be removed when the system is running efficiently.
- This protocol is intended to be utilized during our high traffic drop-off time of 7:30 - 8:30 am.
This is a DRIVE-THROUGH zone ONLY.
Drop-off should occur only in the drive-through lane (RED - the right lane nearest the curb. See map)
Exit lane (BLUE - left lane nearest the parking lot. See map) is strictly for exiting this zone after students have exited the vehicle.
Students should NOT be dropped off from anywhere in the exit lane.
Dropping off from within the parking lot is strictly prohibited as it is a major safety concern and often blocks our handicapped parking spaces.
Students should be COMPLETELY ready to exit the car before entering the drive-through zone.
While in the drive-through lane, please pull all the way to the sign (RED X on the map) or until traffic is stopped.
Park next to the curb and come to a complete stop. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE
Students should exit vehicles IMMEDIATELY on the passenger side, once vehicles come to a complete stop in the drive-through lane.
- When a student has exited the vehicle and is making their way to the door, the driver should signal and turn into the exit lane.

Fruit & Veggie Week 3/6 - 3/10
Bismarck Public Schools is excited to host its elementary schools' 13th annual “Fruit and Veggie Week” on March 6-10th. BPS School Nurses developed this project to excite your child about living a healthy lifestyle in school and everything they do.
MONDAY, March 6th is White/Tan/Brown Day
TUESDAY, March 7th is Yellow/Orange Day
WEDNESDAY, March 8th is Red Day
THURSDAY, March 9th is Purple/Blue Day
FRIDAY, March 10th is Green Day
Kids are encouraged to bring fruits and vegetables for their snack and to dress in the corresponding color. The fruit or vegetable can be fresh, dried, canned, or frozen. It will count towards the classroom goal if it’s 100% real fruit. Each day, your student’s teacher will keep track of the number of students that brought a fruit or vegetable for their snack. (The snack does not have to be the ‘color of the day’ to be counted). To motivate students, the classroom with the highest percentage of students who bring a fruit or vegetable as a snack will win an extra recess with the nurse and be recognized with the Apple Award!
Thank you for encouraging your kids to eat healthy and be active.
