September 16, 2022
From the Principal
Just a couple quick reminders:
- Thursday, September 22, 2022 is a early release day with no after school camp. Dismissal is at 12:30pm. All students will eat lunch prior to dismissal.
- Catholic School Walk fund raising is in full swing. Please see information below on making a pledge to raise money for MQSCA.
- Coffee with the Principal is September 28. This is an opportunity to learn more about the school year, needs of the school, and to ask Mr. Lee any questions you may.
- Thank you to the Sweet family for coordinating the Family fun dance Friday September 16th. It was great to hear the excitement from the students and families leading up to the event.
Positions still open at MQSCA, Camp and Food Service
Here is the volunteer form. Please take a moment to fill it out if yo have not. We still have many spaces available to help volunteer at different event in our school through out the year.
I have some community members that have already showed interest in supporting the school for a beer and wine tasting fundraising effort. We have an opportunity to make this one night be an opportunity to raise money for our school for a playground and much needed fencing. Please consider volunteering for this event so we can start the planning process.
Coffee with the Principal, September 28
What to learn more about the school? Want to ask Mr. Lee questions about MQSCA? Want to learn more about the future of MQSCA? Join Mr. Lee at Coffee with the Principal and he update you on the schools beginning of the school year. Parents that attend, will earn an out of uniform pass for their children.
Catholic Schools Walk (formerly called Soles For Catholic Education Walk)
The Catholic Schools Walk is one of the biggest ways we can raise money for MQSCA, where 100% of the money raised stays at MQSCA, with very little cost associated with the fundraiser. First steps you can take is to form your own team for your family. The process is very easy, here is the link to the MQSCA page.
Our biggest need at MQSCA is a playground, and fencing around the play area. We were awarded with a $10,000 grant from the archdiocese as seed money for this project. Our goal for this fall is $25,000. I know this seems high, but with all of the hard work from our community I know this can be achieved. We will be sharing incentives as the weeks progress. Each family that signs up with a $500 dollar or higher goal will receive 5 dress down day passes for their child to use in school.
Look for more information on the day, as we get closer to the event. We will be doing our walk at MQSCA on October 15, will a tailgate style party after the walk. We will begin the event at 10am, with food and snacks around 11:30am for lunch.
Seton Value: CommunitySaint of the Week: St. Matthew the Apostle
Virtue of the Week: Encouraging
Scripture of the Week: "I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Prayer of the Week:
I pray for my friend right now. I pray that you will help them with the struggles they are going through in this season. For you know exactly what they need in this moment. Draw near to them and let them feel your presence. Open their eyes, ears, and hearts to you. Help them have the discernment to hear your voice as you lead them in their next steps. Speak to them as they read your word and bring verses of encouragement and comfort to their attention. I pray that you will calm any fear or anxiety they may be feeling. Replace it with the confidence to obey your word and to trust you. I pray that your guidance will be clear to them from this day forward. In your name, I pray. Amen.
Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Bryanna Hill if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
