Ration of mass of the substance to its volume.
Example
Density can be use to test the purity of a substance such as. At room temperature silver has the density of 10.5 g/cm. If a coin has the density of 9.9 then then coin is mad out of silver or contains substance in addition to silver. water would have low density because its not compact.
