A Message From Your Principal - Un mensaje de la Directora Sra. Fine
I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating the holidays and creating beautiful memories with family and friends. This is certainly a time to reflect on our blessings and set intentions for the new year.
We had a fun filled month of December at Glenn! We hosted Family Math Night, PTA Musical Program by our Glenn Choir and Strings and Art Show, and partnered with UT Health Science Center and served as a COVID / FLU Vaccine Site.
I am sure that you heard that ELVES took over our school before the break! They Elves were spotted all around campus and spread some magical cheer into the classrooms. The kids LOVED IT! They have smiles from ear to ear and their eyes were filled with glee!
The end of the 2nd Nine Weeks was on 12/16 and Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, January 6th, 2023. Please be sure to review the Report Cards and decide to meet with your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Parent Conferences can occur at any time during the year as we work together to ensure the success of every Astronaut! Additionally, it your child is working below grade level and receiving additional supports you will receive an RTI Parent Notification Letter which will provide the Goal Statement and Intervention to close academic gaps.
This month we will gather midyear data to determine student progress in Reading, Math, and Writing. We will analyze schoolwide goal attainment, grade level and classroom progress, and by student achievement and growth. This information will allow us to create an action plan for the second semester of the school year. This data will be shared at our next Parent Cafecito on February 13th. Please attend either our In-Person Session (8 - 9 am) or our Virtual Option (5 - 6 pm). Zoom link will be e-mailed the day prior to the event.
We hope to see everyone back tomorrow as we are eager to greet our incredible students and families in the morning at our Rise and Grind from 7:00 - 7:40 am)!
Welcome back and Happy New Year - we are SO excited for what lies ahead!
