Class of 2023 Newsletter
5 Months Until Graduation!
What's New with Seniors?
Welcome to 2023 Helix Families!
Happy New Year! It is officially graduation year!
We look forward to 2023 and celebrating our seniors on that fake grass in June! In the meantime, let's make sure that they are crossing items off of that checklist!
As a reminder:
- Cap and gown order forms were distributed on Friday in Advisory. Remember that you can also order online or wait until March 1st if you'd rather rent the cap and gown instead of buy.
- Did your student apply to a 4 year college AND have a schedule change? Make sure that they reach out to the colleges they have applied to in order to make them aware of the schedule change. An unannounced change in plans can have a negative impact on admission.
- The deadline to submit the FAFSA/CADAA for extra graduation tickets is quickly approaching! Make sure to submit the FAFSA/CADAA by January 13th. Paying for college can be scary! Let financial aid help!
Cap and Gown Orders
Believe it or not it's time to order your cap and gown! The company will be on campus on 1/12 during lunch if students would like to place orders in person. Please note: If you would rather not purchase, you can wait until March 1st to order a rental. Otherwise, you can purchase a la carte or take a look at the packages available.
A Reminder about College Applications and Schedule Changes
If your student had a schedule change that now differs from what is reported on their college applications it is important that they inform the schools that they have applied to. If students do not complete the courses that they reported as "planned" on their applications, it could have a negative impact on their admissions outcomes.
Please check in with your student and encourage them to reach out to these admissions offices individually if they have had schedule changes since submitting.
