May 22, 2020 - Remote Learning Newsletter #10
Saints Community,
Thank you for reading through this newsletter to the end. It is our desire to keep everyone informed and connected to the NCCS community.
This is the final week of the 2019-20 school year, with the last day of school on Friday, May 29. Please also note that this Monday is the Memorial Day holiday, so there is no school.
For students, the upcoming days include sharing final projects and finishing units of study. For teachers, these days include reflecting on the past year with all its challenges and successes. For parents, this week is a countdown to the last week of facilitating remote learning at home, a job they likely never expected they would have to do. For EVERYONE, YOU HAVE DONE THIS, TOGETHER AND EXCELLENTLY!!!
Below you will find IMPORTANT INFORMATION as we end the school year.

Student Year End Checkout June 2
Staff will assemble student items ahead of this day, and have them bagged for a quick pick up process. We ask that you do a careful inventory at home of school property to be returned, so that we are able to clear students for year-end check out.
Library books will be collected, without any late fee charges. Damaged or lost books, textbooks, or Chromebooks, will be assessed a fee for repair or replacement.
REQUIRED: Use this sign up form to schedule your family's time (one slot per family, no matter how many students) to come by the school on June 2, 9am-3pm. We expect phyical distancing to be followed. There will be a process in place for this event, and it is our plan for it to be outside. If you bring your children, they must stay with you at all times.
Any questions about this process can be directed to mckenzie_falotico@ncchristianschool.com.

Grad Spotlight: Tyler Burch
My name is Tyler and I've attended NCCS for 8 years. Over the years, I've played soccer, baseball, and even tried some basketball. I've also been a member of the NHS since sophomore year.
The subject I enjoy the most kind of changes every year, but overall I love History/Geography. My favorite verse is James 1: 2-4, because it talks about how trials in life make you stronger and I think this is so important to know. My favorite memory at NCCS was during my junior year when we decided to put up hammocks and do our school work outside and just have fun.
After highschool, I will attend Trinity Western University in British Columbia, where I will major in Intercultural Studies. I plan to work for an NGO or humanitarian organization doing my best to better develop the world we live in.
Congratulations Tyler, we all so proud of you! May you continue to be a blessing to many!
Grad Spotlight: Nikki Hofer
My name is Nikki and I have attended NCCS since I was in preschool. I have been involved in sports and other extracurriculars during my time going to school here. I have played basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track. I have also been involved in the Excelsior choir, the play, and ASB as secretary and vice president.
My favorite subjects have been anything science-related and calligraphy. My favorite verse is Dueteronomy 31:6, and I also really like Joshua 24.
After highschool I will attend Grand Canyon University in Arizona to study biology, in preparation to become a veterinarian.
I have way too many favorite memories at NCCS. From sports and goofing off at track meets, to field trips, to just spending every day with some of my absolute favorite people. Every day had something special about it, even if it was just talking to someone else in the hallway. If I had to pick one favorite memory, it would be sitting in the field one day during junior year. My class and I were sitting and telling stories about each person. It was one of those times when anything said was funny and someone would say something and it would just add to the laughter.
Congratulations Nikki, we are excited for your next steps in life! Your are dearly loved at NCCS!
What is NCCS Planning for 2020-21?
