ELA Week 13
Mrs. Boyd
This Week
As some of you know, I have two tiny boys, ages three and four months. On occasion, Junah, my three year old, acquires the dreaded "ouchie." To prevent a minor meltdown, we tell him, "You're tough, you're tough!" He usually responds, "I not tough, Ma!" It is a week until Thanksgiving break, and our mantra is WE ARE TOUGH! Even if we don't necessarily feel that way, we are still working, learning, and making so much progress. And let me add, these sixth graders are still being awesome!
This week, students are learning about point of view, conflict, and characterization. These terms are not new to sixth graders, but students are required to apply them in a new and more complex way. We are reviewing the foundation that students received in previous grades. Students will apply these terms as they analyze new texts.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Early release on Friday!
