Aswan High Dam
The Aswan High Dam was built and completed in the 1960's to 1970's. It's located in eastern Africa in the country Aswan, Egypt. It was built so they had energy, irrigation and so they didn't have to deal with floods. They use turbines, and the dam didn't pollute the Nile River. The Nile River wasn't polluted but the dam reduced the nutrients in the Nile River so there is a decrease of fish. As you can see Aswan High Dam is used for a lot of reasons.
Lake Victoria
Some information on Lake Victoria. The Nile River splits into Lake Victoria. In 1850 a English explorer named John Hanning found Lake Victoria. The grey color of the river gives the White Nile it's name. The Blue and White Nile flow out of Lake Victoria.
