Beginning of the Semester
NEWSLETTER
Welcome back Dear Families, we hope you all had a wonderfully relaxed and fun-filled break. The children arrived back with big smiles, filling our classroom with fun and contagious energy. We are so excited to be jumping into this New Year. We have so much planned and so much to accomplish! I can't wait to get started.
This week we have been focusing on establishing our routines again after the long break. We talked about the different parts of the classroom, where we can put things to keep them safe, and the rules we follow to keep us safe when we are together at school.
This week we also brought Humpty Dumpty and the Three Little Kittens back into our classroom. Children enjoyed having the opportunity to show their knowledge about these popular characters. Focusing on Humpty Dumpty, children explored how to build walls, we experimented what happens to real eggs if they fall, and in Discovery children tried to put eggs shells back together again.
Beginning to recognize and name letters is a big part of preschool. A great place to start with the letters in your child’s first name. During whole group, we continued practicing letter recognition by asking the children “do you have this letter in your name?”
