Loggerhead Turtle

Threatened Species

Why on the threatened list?

The Loggerhead is threatened by pollution, illegal hunting, and accidental catch in fishing nets.

Why is it called the Loggerhead?

Because it has a big head, but don't make fun of it, its big head supports powerful jaws that can break through hard shelled ocean life. In short, it can bite your hand off it wants to. This three foot long turtle is not to be messed with.

Why should we care?

The Loggerhead is vital to a lot of habitats in the ocean and also population control.
