Pleasant Valley Post
November, 2017
Wow! November is here already! Our first marking period has come to a close and report cards will come home with your student(s) this Thursday, November 2nd. All teachers have sent home forms to work with parents on scheduling parent-teacher conferences on November 6th. We hope you'll take advantage of this time to come in and touch base with your child's teacher and check on his/her progress here at school. If you cannot come on that date, please feel free to communicate that and work to set up another date/time. Your attendance at these conferences sends a positive message to your child about the importance of his/her education and commitment to school success. We hope to see you! Contact the office or your child's teacher if you have questions or need another copy of the scheduling form.
Phase II of our renovation project is well on its way to being complete! As I indicated last month - our plan is for 3rd grade to relocate for construction purposes on November 7th. Fourth and Fifth grades are still expected to do so the following week provided inspections and other last minute items happen as scheduled. We are working to make these moves as seamless as possible. Please feel free to reach out to me should you have any questions.
As always, thank you for your support and understanding! You are part of the reason PVES is such a fantastic school!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hammill
Principal

RCPS INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
When conditions require “short notice” changes in the school schedule, announcements will be made over local radio and TV stations.
You may also see the RCPS webpage at www.rockingham.k12.va.us for weather-related announcements.
We also encourage you to sign up through PowerSchool to receive text or email notifications of closings and delays. Parents and students should not call schools, school officials, or radio stations to find out if schools are being closed. Telephone lines must be kept open to enable schools and radio stations to receive notifications of school closings.
