Welcome to all our new families!

Welcome, new families!

The Eagle Express is a newsletter that goes out weekly during the school year. We share updates, prayer requests, and school, parish and community news. It is available by the end of each week on the school homepage, and will be emailed to subscribers. Join our mailing list here so you don't miss any important news!

If you have school-related announcements or student/staff accolade to share, you may submit items for publication via email to Kim Hattaway - eagleexpress@steugeneschool.org.

Deadline is 5pm TUESDAY of the week to be published.

The Eagle Express is reviewed and approved by the Principal prior to going to print.

Please Pray For...

Pray for all those who have been affected by Covid-19, whether by sickness, loss of job, isolation, or loneliness, etc. May all find strength, comfort and healing in this difficult time. | Pray for our staff who have been putting in many extra hours to prepare for the upcoming school year. Please pray for students and their families. May God grant us all patience and wisdom as we navigate a very different school year. Help us put our faith first and give grace to all.

If you would like to include something in the Prayer Requests section, please contact Kim Hattaway at eagleexpress@steugeneschool.org.

Big picture

Extended Care Enrollment

Enrollment form and FAQs are now available for Extended Care. View here. Please note that we will not be offering Before Care this year.

NEW Uniform Option!

More outdoor learning means more than just your brain will be breaking a sweat! We are adding performance polos to our non-dress uniform options. Students may now wear performance style polos as part of their non-dress uniform.

  • hunter green (K-5th)
  • white (K-5th)
  • navy (6-8th only)

Performance polo color options will be available from FlynnO'Hara soon, but these colors may be purchased at any retailer as long as the colors closely match our regular uniforms. NO LOGOS or embellishments! (Local Target and Old Navy stores have approved styles in stock).

Nurse on Duty!

Our school community is blessed to have two staff members who are nurses! One of them will always be available during school hours as part of the First Responder team. Response protocols and a communication plan will be shared soon.

Orange Carpool Tags

For 1st-8th grade, all vehicles that pick up students will need to display an orange carpool tag in the front window. If you still have yours, no need for further action. Keep using that tag. If you are a new family or need a new/additional carpool tags, request a new carpool tag using this quick form.

Gaiters and Mask storage

Good news! The school will be providing each student and staff member with a neck pouch for storing their masks when not in use. This will keep our masks clean.

Don't forget, every student will be provided with a gaiter with our school logo thanks to generous donors!

Cafeteria Monitors Needed!

We are hiring 2-3 support staff positions to help teachers monitor student lunch periods. Duties include assisting students, enforcing procedures and cleaning between classes/lunch periods.

Monday through Friday 11am - 1pm. Must be safe environment trained with background check, etc.

For applications and inquiries, email Ms. Patrick: jpatrick@steugeneschool.org

Set Up and Add Funds to your Lunch Account

New to the school or need to add funds to you child(ren)'s hot lunch account?

Follow these instructions! Lunch accounts must be pre-paid. More lunch info available at: https://steugeneschool.org/lunch-room

PTO News & Sign Ups

Stop by the school on Friday, Aug. 14th from 4-6pm to pick up your pre-ordered CSSE shirts and spirit items. Park in the back lot and walk up to pick up and pay. Cash, check and Venmo will be accepted.

Didn't get your order in? No worries! There are extras of some shirts and items. First come, first served.

There will also be PTO and classroom parent sign up opportunities.

Don't let all of your student's personal items end up in the lost and found this year! Order super cute, easy-to-use labels through the PTO Mabel's Labels Fundraiser! Shop using this link, and a portion of proceeds will come back to the school!

NEW Outdoor Classroom!

Our Early Childhood program is working to create an outdoor classroom! The church has generously agreed to let us use the fenced backyard of the CCO house just behind the school. We will be able to offer our youngest students another outdoor area to explore that will be filled with invitations to learn through play!

EC teachers have already been hard at work gathering materials and cleaning up the area, but we could use your help to make it even better! We are looking for deliveries of wood chips and pea gravel (by the truckload), weed barrier, sand, outdoor storage pieces, kid-size picnic table(s), tractor tires, garden edging, and tree stumps. If you would like to donate or help purchase any of these items, please contact Kim Hattaway. Gift cards to Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart would also be great! We will plan a group workday for later in the fall to work on creating things like a sensory path, play spaces and more!
