Sherman Bow Tie
Sherman Bow Ties were a railroad destruction tactic used during the Civil war. Used by Union General William Tecumseh Sherman. They would take the railway rails, heat them up and bend them around trees so confederates couldn't use them. Used in Sherman's March to the Sea on September 2nd 1864.
Scortched Earth Policy
Sherman's scorched earth policy was a means of total war where Sherman and his men would burn down everything in sight as they made there way through the south. This destroyed the south's economy as they burned up all the cotton plantations. It left noting for the Confederates to use. This tactic was used in Sherman's March to the Sea beginning on September 2nd 1864.

William Tecumseh Sherman was born in Lancaster, Ohio on February 8th 1820. He died in New York City, New York on February 14th, 1891. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri
