Terrance Talley visits MMS!!
On October 7th & 8th, MMS welcomed Terrence Talley as a guest speaker. Terrence travels across the US bringing a strong message of HOPE and RESILIENCE to schools. He told a number of engaging and personal stories that promoted his message of 'Never Giving Up'! Following his performance, all students had small group conversations in their M&M classes to share and reflect on his stories and message. Our M&M teachers reported a number of great comments and conversations in that follow-up time. Terrence's encouraging message reminded all of us to stay connected, look out for one another, and realize the value every person has. If you or your student would like additional resources regarding staying connected or accessing mental health resources please check out the resources listed on our MS Student Center website or feel free to contact our Student Center staff by calling 763-272-2100. We would like to thank the Monticello ministerial group for helping the district with the costs associated with bringing Terrence Talley. If you get a chance, please ask your student about the presentation!

A Note from the School Nurse
Hello Parents,
Now more than ever, it is important to stay home when sick. Students should also stay home if a family member has symptoms & is getting tested for COVID (until the results are back). Parents, here is a document from the MN Department of Health on when to keep your child home from school?
Please call the health office if you have any questions or concerns @ (763) 272-2120.

Thank You, Wright County Area United Way!
Monticello Middle School students and staff want to thank Wright County Area United Way for funding to support students in need!
We received a grant to purchase school supplies and other items to help families and students be successful in school. Any students who need assistance, please contact one of our social workers or counselors in the Student Center.
A special thank you to Wright County Area United Way for a significant grant this year to increase our mental health services and support for students, staff, and families. Alexis Peterson, our MMS school counselor intern from SCSU, will be providing services four days a week all year, which is made possible through funds from WCAUW. We're so grateful to have this additional support during these very challenging times.
