Define
Part of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, these so called "Alphabet Agencies" were a large group of government organizations created in order to improve conditions in the United States as well as provide jobs and help alleviate effects of the depression. There are 14 alphabet agencies that were created.
Cause
Between 1933 and 1939 dozens of federal programs,called Alphabet Agencies, were created as part of the "New Deal". With Franklin D. Roosevelt's focus on "relief, recovery and reform," he wanted to use these new organizations in order to give the U.S.A. a new life.
Characteristics
There were over 100 agencies created. Examples of these include the NRA (National Rifle Association) and the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).
Significance
the significance of these programs were to to give the united states to create a way for people to have jobs and to prevent another stock market crash.
