VFX 3D Animation
Ms. Tabitha Daniel
A New School Year
I am excited to teach your child this coming school year. My name is Tabitha Daniel. I am a 2005 graduate of Liberty University with a communications degree. I have taught 3D animation, photography and graphic design in Greene County, Virginia before moving to the Shenandoah Valley last year.
My Classes
The field of 3D modeling and animation is such a broad one and changing constantly. In this class, you will learn how to model, texture and animate objects and scenes. We use the free open source program called Blender. You will be following along tutorials in a state of the art classroom complete with a professional 3D printer.
The second year becomes even more exciting. You will take the skills that you have learned in 3D Modeling 1 and expand them. We will be moving on to advanced animation including rigging characters. Rigging means to put a skeleton like system into the models causing them to move in a realistic way. We will also be learning an introduction to video game design.
When I'm not teaching I have unusual hobbies
Beekeeper
I own several hives and sometimes I have gone into the hive without gloves. I have never gotten stung (knock on wood) and I really enjoy the honey that is gathered in the summer.
Civil War Reenactor
I have been a Civil War reenactor since I was very young. I have attended events from Canada to Georgia. My whole family still does this as well. Last year my 6 month old nieces made their debut at the 150th Anniversary of the surrender at Appomattox.
Photo-grapher
I work as a freelance photographer on the side. I not only shoot modern digital cameras but I also work with 19th century cameras and equipment. The antique form of photography is called Wet Plate Collodion and produces photographs on panes of glass (ambrotypes) and iron (tintypes)
