SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE
News and Notes from Doniphan Middle School
August 2019
DMS Parents & Students,
Summer vacation is winding down and we are looking forward to seeing each of you again! The 2019-2020 school year has great opportunities in store for each of you. The best of these is the opportunity to take this adventure together!
At Doniphan Middle School we hope to see all students reach their full potential. A few of the ways we will be working toward this goal during the 2019-2020 school year are through:
Increasing communication with families and our community through email, facebook, newsletters, phone calls, twitter, and our school website.
A continued focus on the DMS Has Drive, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), theme. Thanks to the hard work of our students and staff this past year, DMS was recognized on the state level this summer for our PBIS program!
A continued focus on learning. Our teachers will be working on assessments to help guide student learning and interventions to address student needs, both academically and socially.
Working together; we can, we will, and we are making a difference for our kids is our motto at DMS. Our first two opportunities to work together are just around the corner:
Back to School Night, Tuesday, August 13th 5:00-7:00 p.m., Students may pick up their schedules in the DMS gym and visit their teachers in their classrooms.
First Day of School, Thursday, August 15th 8:00-3:15
It is our pleasure to work with each of you this year and welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year at Doniphan Middle School.
Respectfully,
Doniphan Middle School Staff

Welcome Back
Students arriving at school before the first bell at 7:55 should be seated with their grade level in the DMS gym or eat breakfast in the DMS cafeteria.
Parent pickup after school will remain the same as in years past. All car-riders will be picked up at the back doors of the 5th/6th Grade Building. There will be two lines of traffic. If you are only picking up a Middle School student, please use the left hand lane. The first few days of school are always busy ones for pickup, please bear with us as everyone gets back into the routine.
