How did the music in the 1920's influence Americans?
1920'S music biography
The country music was a twist on the Blues music genre. Blues has been very influential throughout American history. Country and Blues are compared by the lyrics that are used, winning and losing in life and love are reoccurring themes, as are paying for wrongs committed, regretting roads not taken and that, while life can be beautiful, it can also be profoundly unfair.
The Jazz music influenced the literacy, the poetic pieces in the music, as well as the popular culture in America. For example, the flappers and fashion which was a point in time where women's dresses had high hem lines, bodices dropped, hair cut short, and for the men, pants sagged/bagged.
Music in the 1920's can be sharply contrasted to the music in the 2010's. In the 1920's, music was considered real talent and creativity, where as in the 2010's music became more of a push towards sexual arousal and drugged minds.
Looking back, the 1920's was a time where women were provided motivation and opportunity for many women to reach beyond the traditional female roles designated to them by society. Compared to today, where women are still confronted by playing a specific gender role, however women do have the right to apply to any job similar to that of a man's.
