Important Notice: Home Athletic Event Attendance Guidelines
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we gear up for an exciting season of home athletic events, we would like to take a moment to remind everyone of our guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Your cooperation in following these rules is crucial in maintaining a positive environment for our athletes and spectators.
Accompaniment of K-6th Grade Students:
- An adult must accompany all K-6th grade students attending our home athletic events.
- This measure is in place to ensure our younger attendees' safety and well-being and enhance their overall experience.
Supervision of Children:
- Families are reminded to attend to their child/children during the event.
- Parents and caregivers must keep a close eye on their children throughout the event to prevent any disruptions and obstruction of event operations.
Prohibition of Unsupervised Running and Obstruction:
- Children's running and any obstruction during athletic events are strictly prohibited.
- We understand the enthusiasm and excitement that accompanies these events. For the safety of everyone involved, we ask that parents and caregivers actively discourage their children from engaging in activities that may disrupt the proceedings.
Collaborative Responsibility:
- Creating a positive and safe environment requires the cooperation of the entire community.
- We would like to encourage all attendees to be vigilant and supportive, reminding each other of the importance of following these guidelines.
- Your cooperation in following these guidelines is greatly appreciated. By working together, we can create an enjoyable and safe environment for all attendees, fostering a positive atmosphere for our athletes and spectators.
Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the success of our home athletic events.

Attendance
Our 2023-24 attendance goal is for 75% or more of our students to regularly attend school. Pennsylvania defines regular attendees as students who have fewer than 10 absences per year. Students who have 10 or more absences per year are considered "chronically absent." Chronic absenteesim can affect academic achievement and student's social-emotional health.
Please encourage your child to arrive by 7:50 a.m. Doors open at 7:55 a.m. If your child is struggling to attend school, contact their school counselor or a principal for support.
Tardy: A student is considered tardy if they arrive after 8:00 a.m.
Absent: A student is considered absent if they do not attend school. Parent/Caregiver or doctor excuses must be submitted to the Attendance Administrative Assistant within three (3) days of returning for the absence.
For additional information about student attendance visit www.columbiabsd.org or click here.
An Online Excuse can be filled out and submitted for any absence.

Dual Enrollment
CBSD is committed to allowing qualified high school students the opportunity to earn high school and college credits simultaneously. By participating in Dual Enrollment, students are exposed to college classes, coursework, and expectations while still in high school, at what is typically a reduced tuition rate.
Successful students may be able to transfer those credits earned through dual enrollment, onto another college and/or toward their college degree. Transfer credits are dependent on the discretion of the destination college.
