We'd like to welcome everyone back to school! We hope you all had a relaxing winter break and that classes have begun smoothly! We have a few updates and are looking forward to further engaging our organization while offering beneficial programming.


1st General Body Meeting

Please attend our 1st general body meeting of the semester. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 9th at 5:30PM in room S207 (the conference room across from Dean Powers office). Topics covered include the following:

  • JMLS ESLS Spring events & other city-school events
  • End of semester E-Board elections
  • Group outing ideas
  • Internship/externships

Food and beverages will be provided. We look forward to reconnecting with everyone! Please bring a friend or anyone you know who might be interested or want to get involved.

1st Annual DePaul Journal of Sports Law Sports Speaker Series

Michael Nelson, member of the Litigation Department at Latham & Watkins, will be speaking about concussion litigation in sports. Mr. Nelson recently won a landmark victory representing the Illinois High School Association in the nation's first putative class action against a statewide high school athletic association. He has also represented the NCAA in concussion litigation and concussion insurance matters.
