Volunteering at MPS or any FCPS school
We have loved having volunteers back in the school this year. Teachers determine if and when volunteers are needed and share that information with families. If you will be volunteering or have been asked to volunteer, it is important to note that you must complete the FCPS volunteer training.
Volunteering includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
- Working in the school library
- Hanging art work in the hallways
- Making copies for teachers in the building
- Being a mystery reader in a classroom
- Chaperoning field trips
You only need to complete this one time each school year. Volunteers will not be permitted if the training has not been completed and forwarded to MPS. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to keep student and staff safety as our number one priority.
MPS Field Day
Lunch will occur at one common time starting at11:30am. and we will eat lunch "picnic style". Our cafeteria will prepare grab and go lunches for students who pre-order. Teachers will be collecting student lunch orders beginning the week of May 23rd. Students may also pack a lunch from home if they choose.
We are excited to have high school helpers this year to work the stations and help our students participate in activities. Parents are not needed to work at stations.
**If you would like to participate in field day activities with your child, please consider attending for a portion of field day or enjoy lunch with your child. Extended visitors can be overwhelming for some of our students. Please be sure you complete the volunteer training form referenced in this newsletter. Please be sure to do so at least 72 hours in advance of field day to allow time for processing.**
Spring Music Programs
**Please note, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be changing the date of the musical program to Wednesday June 1, 2022.**
We have been able to share two exciting virtual music programs for our kindergarten and 1st grade students. We are excited to present the 2nd grade Spring Music program in person. See below for more details.

We are so excited to welcome families and friends back for our first in-person program in 2 years!
